Financial Products

Please note that SMSF Partners does not provide recommendations for any financial products. SMSFNow Pty Ltd, our company, and our employees or directors are not authorised representatives of an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), and therefore, we do not provide financial product advice or make any recommendations about financial products, either explicitly or implicitly.

Occasionally, SMSF Partners may present information or content about specific financial products or services that provide access to certain financial products. However, we do not endorse, recommend or confirm the suitability of any financial product or service featured on the SMSF Partners website or social media channels.

This condition applies specifically to any financial product where SMSF Partners provides services at a discount or preferential fee due to the use of those products, services or accounts. It’s not mandatory to use a particular account, platform or service provider to be a client of SMSF Partners. However, the types of accounts, investments, and service providers you choose for your SMSF will affect the amount of work required to complete your annual compliance work and the fees your SMSF will be charged.

Before making any decisions about financial products for your SMSF, it is essential to obtain a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) relating to that product and thoroughly consider it. As financial product providers frequently make changes to their products and services, SMSF Partners cannot accept any responsibility for any outdated or inaccurate information provided on our website or social media channels.

SMSF Bank Account

To receive deposits, rollovers, contributions, and pay expenses, taxes, and payments to members, an SMSF must have a bank account. When placing your SMSF setup order, you can request SMSF Partners to refer you to Macquarie to establish a Macquarie Cash Management Account (CMA). By giving this instruction to SMSF Partners, you confirm that you have decided to set up a Macquarie CMA for your SMSF and ask for administrative assistance to set up the account.

Using the services of SMSF Partners does not require you to set up and use the Macquarie CMA. However, using an alternate bank account may impact the amount of work required to administer your SMSF and the administration fees your SMSF will be charged.

Macquarie provides SMSF Partners with read-only access, allowing them to download statements for independent auditors of the SMSF and receive electronic data feeds of transactions into their specialist accounting software. SMSF Partners does not have any transactional authority on any client accounts.

SMSF Partners does not receive any commissions, financial or non-financial benefits from Macquarie. Your approval is necessary for the establishment of the Macquarie CMA. SMSF Partners does not arrange this financial product on your behalf but only performs routine administrative tasks to assist you in completing online application forms and sending them electronically to Macquarie. You can access relevant product information regarding the Macquarie CMA from the Macquarie website: https://www.macquarie.com.au/investing/cash-management-account.html

SMSF Trading Account

An SMSF may choose to open a trading account to buy shares, stocks, and ETFs. If you want to set up a trading account with Macquarie, you can request SMSF Partners to refer you to them. However, it’s important to note that SMSF Partners is not recommending any specific financial product or class of products available through Macquarie’s online trading platform.

You have the option to use an alternative trading account for your SMSF. However, please keep in mind that doing so may affect the amount of work required to administer your SMSF, as well as the associated fees.
